Doyle joins the Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball coaching staff in the summer of of 2018. The assistant coach comes to Virginia Wesleyan by way of Wilkes University, where he helped lead the program to its best season in 17 years. As an assistant there, he played a large part in the recruiting process, creating scouting reports as well as player development on and off the court.
Before Wilkes, the Franklin Va. native was a graduate assistant at Lynchburg, working on similar things including scouting, developing players and running camps.
Doyle is a former Marlin, playing two years (45-15 record while there) under head coach Dave Macedo before graduating in 2016. The former guard was not only part of the 2015-16 squad that boasted a 27-6 record and made its way to the NCAA Division III Final Four, but was also a team captain that season. Over his two year career at VWU (formerly VWC), Doyle racked up 393, 124 rebounds and 77 assists. Before becoming a Marlin, he had a two-year stint at Division I Delaware State.
