FOREST, Va. – Three members of the Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team were named All-Conference by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for their performances over the 2019 season. Cori Jackson and Elizabeth Roberto were both Second Team Selections while Julie Fassl earned a spot on the Third Team.
Jackson excelled in her final year as a Marlin, starting in all 16 games. The Manassas, Va. native racked a career high eight points on three goals and two assists, helping her earn her second-straight All-Conference nod. Jackson aided the offense through the midfield, earning a four-game point streak during the middle of the season.
Roberto had another solid year, propelling the offense forward position. The senior earned her third career All-Conference accolade, collecting five goals on the season. The Chesterfield, Va. native also racked up five assists on the season to give her a 15 total points on the year. One of her top performances came in the 4-3 victory over the University Mary Washington as she scored the game-tying-goal and then assisted on the winner.
Fassl had an excellent junior season, as she started in every single game of the season. The attacking midfielder spearheaded the offense as her 13 goals led the team and ranked sixth in the conference. Four times this season the New Egypt, N.J. native registered a multiple goal games, including a pair of hat tricks.
