York, PA - Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team fell 3-1 to York College on Saturday afternoon in York, PA.
It was Virginia Wesleyan that struck first when Elizabeth Roberto put one in the back of the net assisted by Karleigh Warren off of a penalty corner. York struck back just 2 minutes later and the teams went into the second period tied at 1-1. With the score knotted at 1-1 the Spartans went on a roll scoring 2 goals in the final 2 periods to hand the Marlins the 3-1 loss.
With the defeat the Marlins fall to 1-2 on the season while the Spartans improve to 1-2. The Marlins return to action Sunday at 1 pm as the squad takes on Allegheny at Lebanon Valley College.
