    VIRIGNIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for their work in the classroom. The squad was one of 131 teams in Division III to receive the NFHCA’s Team Academic Award after carrying a team grade-point average of at least a 3.0.

Skye Swain and Cori Jackson both earned Second Team honors while Julie Fassl, Emily Price and Elizabeth Roberto all nabbed a spot on the Third Team

With the loss, the Marlins go to 6-7 on the year and 3-4 in conference play. Lynchburg moves to 12-5 on the season and remains unbeaten in ODAC play (7-0).
