VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Jacob Pilarski of the Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team was named to the All-South Region Second Team by D3baseball.com for his performance over the 2019 season. This is the second-straight year he has received an All-Region nod.
A First Team All-ODAC selection, Pilarski churned out another dominating season. On the mound, the junior was a force, racking up nine wins which is second among ODAC pitchers. His strikeout total was among the best in the conference best as well, punching out 82 batters (the most of his career). The righty has also saw a couple relief opportunities, collecting a pair of saves on the season. Voted in as a utility player, Pilarski also got to work at the dish. Boasting the second best batting average on the squad (.331), Pilarski racked up 39 hits and 18 RBI. Of those 39 hits, 11 have gone for extra bags, including four dingers. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native has also used a keen eye this season, ranking fourth in the ODAC for bases-on-balls with 30.
