HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s golf team wrapped up its time at the two-day Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament on Tuesday played at Lakeview Golf Course. The Marlins shot a 327 (+39) on day two, giving them a final score of 643 (+67) and placing them 15th overall.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team dropped both of its matches Saturday afternoon at the Mary Washington Tournament. The Marlins dropped their first game 3-0 to Washington and Lee before falling by the same score to host Mary Washington. With the day’s results, the Marlins move to 9-3 on the season.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – In her first game as a Marlin, Gabrielle Lindo played the role of hero. With time running down in a 1-1, double-overtime game, Lindo corralled a Rory Donahue throw-in just across the midfield line. She then beat her defender down the sideline before cutting in, angling her way to the top of the 18-yard box. With a defender still on her, the freshman slammed the breaks allowing the defender to bypass her. Now one-on-one with a charging keeper, the freshman calmly chipped a ball over the netminder’s head to earn a victory with just 66 ticks of the clock left.
SALISBURY, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s soccer team fell late to Salisbury, 1-0, on the road Saturday afternoon. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-4 on the season while the Sea Gulls improve to 5-1.
SALEM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s cross country team finished seventh out 18 teams at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Preview on Saturday morning in Salem, Va. The Marlins totaled 161 points, averaging a 27:27 for the 8-kilometer race.
Virginia Beach, VA - Action continued at the Women's Tennis Marlin Invite on Saturday at the Everett Tennis Center. The Marlins started off the day by capturing four of seven singles matches against Southern Virginia University. At the #1 singles flight, VWU freshman Alexandra Brewster defeated SVU's Morgan Blount 6-1, 6-3. At the #2 singles flight, Marlin sophomore Christine Zalameda topped SVU's Elizabeth Fuchs 4-6, 6-2, 10-5. Also picking up wins for the Marlins was junior Taitum O'Brien and senior Aubree Johnson at #5 and #7 flights respectively.
CHESTER, Pa. - The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team dropped its game, 3-1, to Widener University Saturday afternoon on the road. With the loss, the Marlins move to 2-3 on the season while the Pride improve to 5-0.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team took its first loss of the season Friday evening as the team fell to Johns Hopkins University, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-22), in the opening day of the Mary Washington Tournament. With the loss the Marlins move to 9-1 on the season while Hopkins remains unbeaten at 5-0.
AMMAN, Jordan - Marlin sophomore Timothy Tep (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) made history this week by becoming the first Virginia Wesleyan University tennis player to compete in the World Cup of Tennis (Davis Cup). Cambodia was placed in pool D of Group IV, Asia/Oceania which is held this year in Amman, Jordan Other countries in pool D in addition to Cambodia include: United Arab Emirates; Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The surface for pool D is hard court and Cambodia is captained by Rithivit Tep, Cambodia’s Secretary General of Tennis.
