VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Elizabeth Britton of the Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team has been named the Marlin of the Week for the week ending on November 3rd, 2019.
Elizabeth had an outstanding week both offensively and defensively, helping the Marlins produce a 4-0 record to close out the regular season.
Over the course of the week, the Midlothian, Va. native collected 39 kills, topping the Marlin squad in the middle two matches. Her week-high came in the five-set win over Christopher Newport University as the senior finished with 15 kills to pick up the second win over the Captains in the last 10 years.
Britton performed well in the back row as well, reaching double digit digs in every single match. She finished with 58 total, registering her most against Averett University (16).
Volleyball returns to action at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the second-seeded Marlins host #7 Roanoke in the first round of the ODAC Championship.
