Lattuca's All-Region Finish Highlights XC Regional Race

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Division III NCAA South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Mount Berry, Ga. The men took home 24th at the meet while the women finished in 29th place.

Continuing his terrific start as a Marlin, Skyler Lattuca led the way on the men's side. The first year runner ran the eight kilometer race in 26:42.40, earning him 32nd in a field of 239 runners. The finish also garnered him All-Region honors, marking him the 14th Marlin to achieve that honor.

Michael Tres was the next to cross the finish line for VWU, clocking in at 28:37.41, while senior Michael Class was nearly a minute behind him with a time of 29:47.45.

On the women's side, it was Gina Donatelli who paced the Marlin squad. The sophomore turned in a time of 26:36.58 to claim 128th in the 6-kilometer race. Donatelli has finished in the top spot for the Marlins in every race this season.

Not far behind her was Kwonsha Washington who crossed the finish line with a time of 28:47.71. Kayleen Meinen also was right in the mix as she churned out a time of 29:36.99.
