SALISBURY, Md. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country churned out solid performances at the Don Cathcart Invitational Saturday morning hosted by Salisbury University. The men's team claimed sixth overall while the women took home 10th.
Skyler Lattuca continued his stretch of impressive finishes as the sophomore took home fourth overall in a field of 129 runners. His time of 25:33.17 not only was a personal best but also was the second fastest time in Virginia Wesleyan program history.
Not far behind him was teammates Michael Tres (27:44.96) and Michael Class (28:07.00) who claimed 33rd and 39th, respectively.
On the women's side, Gina Donatelli continued to shine as her time of 25.23.07 earned her 46th in a race of 102 runners. Trailing her only slightly was fellow Marlins Destiny Kinka (27:20.24) and Kwonsha Washington (27:26.92) who crossed the finish line in 67th and 70th, respectively.
Both cross country teams will return to action on Oct. 13 s both teams travel to the Hood College Open.
