Latimer Wins ODAC Preview as Teams Sweep Victories

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Senior Emily Latimer won the women's ODAC Preview cross country meet on Friday as Virginia Wesleyan University won both races.

Latimer ran a time of 23:57.81 to claim the win. Freshman Kayleen Meinen crossed the tape in second with a time of 27:31.18, followed by teammate Trini Cole with a 27:31.68 mark to place third. Kwonsha Washington rounded out the top four finishers with a time of 32:40.12.

Virginia Wesleyan collected 17 points to win the title while Shenandoah University finished second with 55 points and Randolph College rounded out the competitors with 62 points.

Jordan Sulcer finished second in the men's race, his first collegiate competition, breaking the tape with a time of 27:35.18. Louis Wolverton was third with a time of 27:42.21 while Michael Tres was fourth (28:25.57), Michael Ward was fifth (28:40.37), and Michael Class was sixth (28:46.19).

Lewis Brooks of Hampden-Sydney won the men's race with a time of 27:03.48.

Virginia Wesleyan won the team title with a score of 20, followed by Hampden-Sydney with 53, Randolph with 69, and Shenandoah's 110.
