Women's Swimming Picks Up Pair of Wins

ROANOKE, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon, competing in a trio of duals in Roanoke, Va. The squad claimed a 69-68 victory over Randolph as well as a 76-60 win over Guilford. The squad faltered against Hollins though, falling 111-46.

In the short courses, newcomers Shayna Anthony and Cherhon Davis Person were just fraction of seconds behind their personal bests in the 50yd free. Anthony came in fourth with a time of 34.10, while Davis-Pearson followed right behind her with a 35.16 finish. Anthony would later topple her personal best by two seconds in the 100-yd free with a time of 1:15.05.

Hayley Heath would pick up some team points as well, as her time of 2:44.00 in the 200yd IM was good enough for second place.

Women's swimming will return to the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the team hosts Greensboro College for a non-conference dual.
