Women's Swimming Nabs Sixth at W&L Invite

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swim team took home sixth at the Washington and Lee Invite on Sunday, racking up a two-day total score of 98 points.

In the afternoon section of the meet, the Marlins got off to a nice start courtesy of Hayley Heath, Miah Kurtz, Morgan Lucas and Amanda Waller in the 200-yd freestyle relay. The foursome teamed up to outdo the current VWU record by just over a second as they clocked in at 2:01.07. Heath would later take down her own school record in the 50-yd free as she touched the wall at the 28.57 mark and also set a PR in the 100-yd breast with a time of 1:25.77.

Taylor Morich performed well in the afternoon as well as she set a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:40.04.

Women's swimming will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the team will battle Salisbury University on the road.
