Women's Swimming Nabs 8th Place in Season Opener

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swim team performed well in its season opener at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Relays hosted by Washington and Lee. The team collected 45 points garnering an eighth place finish.

In the 200-yard medley Sarah Conley, Amanda Waller, Hayley Heath and Morgan Lucas grouped up to take 13th with a time of 2:22.93. That same combination then grabbed another 13th-place finish in the 200-yd freestyle relay, clocking in with a time of 2:04.37.

The squad also raced in a number of hybrid three-person relays including the 3x100-yd IM, where Conley, Heath and Waller collected 14th with a time of 4:03.69. Jordan McCowan, Diana Jones and Waller then teamed up to take 14th in the 3x50-yd backstroke as they posted a time of 2:15.61.

Women's swimming will be return to the pool on Saturday as the team hosts Randolph for its home opener.
