Women's Golf Seals Up Eighth at Spartan Invite

YORK, Pa. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team earned eighth at the Spartan Invitational over the weekend hosted by York College. The competition, played at Country Club of York, was a par 73 and ranged 5810 yards.

Hannah Turner led the Marlin squad, notching the low score in each of the two rounds. The senior registered an 85 on day one before turning in a 90 on day two. Her two-day total of 175 (+17) was low enough to earn her 17th in the 54-person event.

Behind her was teammate Maggie Kingora who shot a 92 the first day and finished with a 95. Ashlee Bobzin was close to that as well, clubbing a 97 on day one before shaving four strokes off for day two. Those two would take 28th and 30th respectively.

Rounding out the squad was Sarah Conley who shot a 102 and a 106 for a grand total of 208 (+62).

Women's golf will return to the course on Saturday as the team heads to Front Royal, Va. for the two-day Shenandoah Shootout.
