Kingora Turns In Low Scorecard as Women's Golf Takes Third

ASHOKIE, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team placed third at the Marlin Invitational played at Beechwood Country Club on Sunday. The team combined for a 368 for the second day, giving them a two day total of 762.

Leading after day one, Maggie Kingora continued her impressive play into the final round. The junior turned in an 83 after another 18 holes, which gave her a total of 162. The two-day total would be the lowest in the field, earning her the title of Individual Champion.

Teammate Hannah Turner also had a solid outing as she shot a 77, which gave the senior a new career low for 18 holes. Ashlee Bobzin shaved five strokes off her day one score (102) and Sarah Conley lowered her day one total by six as well (106). Kat Vandenberg would round out the team score, turning in a scorecard of 133.

Women's golf will return to action again on Saturday as the team heads to Stafford, Va. for teh Eagle Invitational.
