Second Round Performances Place Marlins in Top 10

CAPE CHARLES, Va. – Junior Hannah Turner and sophomore Maggie Kingora improved their scores on the second day of the Bay Creek Invitational to merit top 10 finishes at the conclusion of the round.

Turner, who was in fifth after the first round, finished in a tie for fifth after improving her round by three strokes, shooting an 84 (+12) on the final day. She finished with a two-day 171 (+27).

Kingora, tied for ninth after Monday, finished in eighth after shooting an 88 (+16). She carded a 90 (+18) on Monday to give her a 178 (+34) total.

Allison Cooper of Penn State-Harrisburg maintained the lead after shooting a 75 (+3) on Tuesday to finish with a 148 (+4). Golfers from Christopher Newport University took the next three spots on the leaderboard.

The Marlins compete at the Shenandoah Invitational on September 16-17.
