Kingora Performs Well at Beach Break

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Freshman Maggie Kingora performed well at the Beach Break this weekend, leading the Virginia Wesleyan women's golf team.

The Beach Break featured five teams competing for the title, as well as individual competitors Kingora and Hannah Turner representing Virginia Wesleyan.

Kingora shot an 88 on day one before following it up with an 82 on the final round to move up three spots to eighth place out of 30 golfers. She finished with a 170 (+26). Turner finished in a tie for 22nd place after improving her round one score by nine strokes, posting a 195 (+51) for the weekend.

Rachel Sweeney of Lewis won the individual crown with a 151 (+7). The top six scores were all posted by Lewis golfers.

The Marlins return to action on March 19-21 when they host the Marlin Invitational at Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk, Virginia.
