Women's Golf Competes at Generals Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College women's golf team continued its fall season on Monday at the Generals Invitational hosted by Washington and Lee University.

Freshman Maggie Kingora paced the Marlins with a first round score of 88 (+16), 16 strokes back of the co-leaders, Christina Herbert of Bridgewater College and Wittenberg University's Jane Hopkinson-Wood.

Sophomore Hannah Turner set a new personal best after shooting a 92 (+20) in the first round, two shots better than her previous best set at the Bridgewater Invitational.

Wittenberg leads the team competition after shooting a first-round 311 (+23).

The second round concludes on Tuesday.
