SALEM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's indoor track and field team took sixth at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships on Sunday at the Cregger Center. The team finished the meet with 21 total points.
A majority of the team's points came from a single event as three runners found success in the 400-meter dash. Kwonsha Washington finished with a time of 1:02.42 which placed her fifth and right behind her was Alizae Dollins, who clocked a time of 1:03.25. Arianna Ward would round out the point-getters as her time of 1:03.66 was good enough for eighth.
Washington would pick up another two points for the Marlins in the 200m as she clocked a 27.33 which put her in seventh.
VWU nabbed another three points in the 4000m distance medley relay as Teah Lorenzi, Niya Crocker, Destiny Kinka and Kayleen Meinen joined forces for a sixth-place time of 14:42.98. And in the meet's final event, the 4x400m relay, Washington, Terra Caple, WArd and Dollins teamed up to take second overall with a time of 4:13.37.
