    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The two-time National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has announced its camp dates for the summer of 2019. The Marlins are offering a multitude of different camps for a number of different age groups.
  • Six from Softball Tabbed All-Region

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Six Marlins on the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team were named to the 2019 Atlantic All-Region Teams by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Hanna Hull and Julia Sinnett both garnered a spot on the First Team, while Madison Glaubke was named to the Second Team. Rounding out the list were Carla Hall, Jessica Goldyn and Kaylah Duplain who all collected third team honors.

  • Softball Bows Out of NCAA Regional Round

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University team dropped both of its game against Lynchburg on Sunday and with the losses, have bowed out of the NCAA Division III Championship. The Marlins fell 7-4 game one before dropping game two 4-2. The Marlins conclude their season with a record of 42-6.
  • Lindsay's Walk Off Sends Softball to NCAA Regional Final

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Jessica Lindsay played the role of hero as her walk off double brought home the sole run of No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan Unversity softball team’s win over Lynchburg Saturday morning in the NCAA Division III Regional Round. With the victory, the Marlins improved to 42-4 and have earned a spot in the Regional Round Final. That game will take place at 11 a.m. with the if necessary game to follow.   • Softball uses 11 Hits to Bypass Scranton in NCAA Opener

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team defeated the University of Scranton, 7-2, Friday evening in the first game of the NCAA Division III Regional Round. With the victory, the Marlins improve to 41-4, while Scranton drops to 32-14. This also means VWU has moved on to the winner’s bracket and will square off against Lynchburg at 10 a.m. tomorrow right back at TowneBank Park (Tom & Betty Broyles Field).

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team will resume its quest to defend the National Title this weekend as it hosts the NCAA Division III Softball Regional Round right here in Virginia Beach, Va. The Marlins will host the four-team regional at their new Tom & Betty Broyles Field at TowneBank Park.
  • No. 1 Softball Earns Hosting Rights for NCAA Regional Round

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has earned the right to host the Regional Round of the Division III NCAA Championship this upcoming weekend. The Marlins will take on University of Scranton (32-13) in their opening game, while No. 15 Manhattanville College (40-2) and Lynchburg (32-12) will square off in the other contest.   • Softball Nabs Eight All-Conference Honors; Hull Named PiOY & Elliott COY

    FOREST, Va. - Eight members of the No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team were named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Teams for their performances during the 2019 season. Hanna Hull, Carla Hall, Madison Glaubke, Julia Sinnett, Jessica Lindsay, Jessica Goldyn and Katelyn Biando all earned First Team nods while Kaylah Duplain earned a Third Team selection. Hull was also named the conference’s Pitcher of the Year while Coach Brandon Elliott picked up Coach of the Year honors. The seven first-teamers is also the most in the history of the conference.
  • Softball Topples Randolph-Macon to Earn Fourth-Straight ODAC Title

    SALEM, Va. – For the fourth-straight year, the No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has earned the title of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Champions as the team defeated Randolph-Macon in the final, 8-2, Monday morning at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex. With the win, the Marlins notch their third-consecutive 40-win year (40-4) and have earned an automatic bid to the Division III NCAA Championship.
  • Softball Wins Two Forcing Winner-Take-All Championship Game

    SALEM, Va. - The top-seeded Virginia Wesleyan University softball forced a winner-take-all finale at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship on Sunday, eliminating Lynchburg, 7-3 before shutting out Randolph-Macon 4-0. With the results, the Marlins, who now hold a record of 39-4, have forced a single game against Randolph-Macon to determine who will be crowned ODAC Champion. That contest will take place on Monday at 10 a.m.
  • Softball Avoids Elimination with Pair of Victories

    SALEM, Va. - The top-seeded Virginia Wesleyan University softball team stayed alive through the loser’s bracket at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, losing their first game but winning their next two. The Marlins dropped the day’s opener to Randolph-Macon, 3-2, but bounced back to take down Ferrum, 9-4, and then Emory & Henry 4-1. With the day’s results, the Marlins improve to 37-4 on the year and will go on to play Lynchburg at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Top-Seeded Softball Shuts Out #8 Shenandoah in ODAC Championship Opener

    SALEM, Va. - The top-seeded Virginia Wesleyan University softball team shut out #8 Shenandoah, 7-0, in the opening round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship Friday evening at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. With the win, the Marlins improve to 35-3 on the season while Shenandoah goes to 18-22. The victory also propels the Marlins into the winner’s bracket where they will take on #4 Randolph-Macon at 1:30 p.m.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team split its twin bill with Ferrum Saturday afternoon at TowneBank Park and Tom & Betty Broyles Field. The Marlins took game one by a score of 5-0 before dropping game two, 1-0.  With the results, the Marlins finish the regular season with a record of 34-3 and 18-2 in conference play.

The squad claimed a 9-1 victory in game one before taking the Hornets down 15-3 in game two. With the wins, the Marlins improve to 33-2 on the year and 17-1 in conference.

The team took game one by a score of 10-2 before shutting them out, 9-0, in the day’s second contest. With the victorys, the Marlins improve to 23-2 on the season and go to 9-1 in conference action. Guilford slides to 17-6 on the year (3-5 ODAC).

The Marlins defeated the Captains, 3-1, in game one but fell in extras, 2-1, in game two. With the result, the Marlins move to 19-2 on the season and the Captains go to 16-2.

The squad downed the Eagles 13-0 before securing an 11-3 win in game two. With the wins, the Marlins improve to 18-1 on the season while going to 5-1 in conference play. Bridgewater moves to 13-7 on the year (1-3 ODAC).

    ASHLAND, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team split its doubleheader with No. 24 Randolph-Macon Wednesday afternoon on the road. Virginia Wesleyan took game one by of a score of 1-0 before falling to the Yellow Jackets 5-1 in game two. With the result, the Marlins move to 16-1 on the season and go to 3-1 in conference action. Randolph-Macon goes to 11-4 on the year (1-1 ODAC).
