Men's Swimming Finishes Ninth at ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swim team placed ninth at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships on Sunday. The team accumulated 122 team points over the three day meet.

It was a solid outing for the Marlins as multiple school records were set. Tyler Strong led the day off with a new record in the 200yd back as he touched the wall in 2:08.64. He would improve that later in the day to 2:07.27. Max Currens performed well in the 1650, setting two records in one event. The freshman had a split time of 11:48.08 in the mile and would finish the race with an overall time of 23:12.47. Patrick McKneely also turned in an impressive performance as his time of 57.07 in the 100yd free was a personal best by nearly two seconds.

In the meet's final race, the 400yd free, the Marlins were able to pull out one more school record as Woolf McKneely, Currens and Strong comined for a time of 3:31.81.
