Men's Swimming In Seventh After Day One of ODACs

GREENSBORO, N.C. - After one day of competition, the Virginia Wesleyan University men's swim team is in seventh at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships with 50 team points. It was a successful day with every single Marlin breaking personal records.

Leading off the day was a trio of Marlins who recorded personal bests in the 50yd free.  Tyler Strong came in with a swift 22.33 while Kyle Woolf and Grant Morgan clocked a 24.43 and a 26.09, respectively.

In the distance events, Max Currens set the new school record in the 500yd freestyle with a time of 5:38.45. Patrick McNeely (6:02.35) and Matt Bavuso (6:31.70) both PR'd in the event as well.

The combination of Currens, Woolf, Strong and McNeely would earn some team points in the 400yd medley relay as well. The squad swam a 4:08.69, which earned them sixth place overall.

Men's swimming will return to action at 10 a.m. on Saturday for day two of the ODAC Championships.
