Men's Lacrosse Releases 2019 Schedule

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team has unveiled its slate for the upcoming 2019 season. The Marlins will compete in 17 games, with eight of them coming against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponents.

To kick off the year, the Marlins will be at home on Birdsong field as they host Greensboro College on Feb. 16. Seven days later, the squad slides down to North Carolina where they will square off against Methodist University. Last season, the team picked up wins against both of those opponents.

It's then off to Savannah, Ga. for the squad as the team will compete in a two-game classic on the weekend of March 2-3. On day one, the team will battle Peidmont College and then take on Berry College the following day.

VWU will be on the road for another road game March 9 as it opens up conference action with a contest against Ferrum. On March 13, the team finally returns home as they host Susquehanna University for a non-conference bout.

The home-stint doesn't last long though as the team Is matched up against Roanoke next, with the face off taking place on March 16. Virginia Wesleyan will then travel to nearby Christopher Newport University for a game on March 19.

For the next four games, the Marlins will have home-field advantage beginning with an ODAC-bout against Shenandoah on March 23. The team will then host Huntingdon College on March 27 in VWU's final non-conference match up. After that, its Randolph coming to town for a contest on March 30. The homestretch will then conclude on April 4 with a battle against Hampden-Sydney.

The Marlins will be on the road for their next two tilts, starting with a contest against Bridgewater on April 6. Exactly one week later, the team travels to Lynchburg for a game against the Hornets.

Conference play continues with a pair of home games next, as Washington and lee comes to town on April 17. That game is followed by one against Guilford on April 20. The Marlins will conclude their regular season schedule with an away bout at the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon.
