Men’s Lacrosse drops road contest to Randolph-Macon

Ashland, VA- The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon by a final score of 17-1 in Ashland, Virginia.

RM-C jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. With the loss, the Marlins fall to  1-3 in the ODAC and 3-7 for the season. The Yellow Jackets earner their first ODAC win, improving to 1-3 in conference play and 5-6 overall. 

Joey Ramon was able to put the Marlins on the board early in the 4th quarter with Josh Davis assisting the lone Marlin goal. Nick Zepko was able to get off four shots to lead the Marlins. 13 different Marlins had at least one ground ball. Matt Baldwin also put pressure on the Yellow Jackets with two shots on net.

Cory Austin made nine saves on the night while Phillip Venanzi stymied six Yellow Jackets shots. Dante Castillo scooped up three ground balls to pace the squad. 

The Marlins return to action against Hampden-Sydney on April 4th. The road contest is slated to begin at 7:00p.m.
