Men's Golf Takes Fifth at Marlin Invitational

ASHOKIE, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team placed fifth at the Marlin Invitational played at Beechwood Country Club on Sunday. The team combined for a 332 for the second day, giving them a two day total of 672.

Keith Cooper was the top Marlin golfer as his 73 was six strokes lower than his day one. The 152 total helped the senior claim fifth individually. Right behind him was Taylor Cunningham, who lowered his score by five (78) to give him a final score of 161 after 36 holes. Jackson Lyons also lowered his score as his 87 was a four stroke improvement.

Rounding out the five-player team was Tyler Duncan and Noah Phillips, who turned in a 94 and a 93, respectively.

Competing as an individual, Chandler Scott lowered his second day total to an 86 to give him a finishing score of 181. Also going as individuals were Stone Keeter (94) and Beau Janousek (95)

Men's golf will return to action again on Saturday as the team heads to Stafford, Va. for the Eagle Invitational.
