Men's Golf Holds 11th Place After Day One

SUFFOLK Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team had a solid outing after day one of the Virginia State Golfer Association (VSGA) Intercollegiate at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. The team currently sits in 11th place, shooting a +35 on the day.

Leading the way for the Marlins was Keith Cooper. The senior shot a 75 (+3) on the day, putting him in a tie for 13th place. Following closely behind was Taylor Cunningham, whose 78 (+6) has him in a tie for 26th overall.

Jackson Lyons was the next to turn his scorecard, shooting an 83 (+11), which was good enough for a piece of 55th place. Rounding out the squad was Cameron MacLellan (+15) and Tyler Duncan (+18).

Men's golf returns to the same course on Tuesday for the second and final day of the VSGA Intercollegiate. Players will tee off at 9 a.m.
