VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Carter Morgan of the Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team has been named to the All-State Second Team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) for his performance over the 2018 season. This is the program's second ever All-State recipient with former National Champion, Evan Cox, receiving All-State honors in 2016 and 2015.
Morgan has been a stalwart in the Marlin line up this season, posting a team best average of 74.3 strokes a round. The sophomore has played 19 rounds this season, amassing seven top-10 finishes, four of which found him finishing in the top-five. His top finish of the year came at the Glenn Heath Memorial where he claimed second overall and his top score came at the Greene Turtle Invitational where he shot a 68 in the opening round.
The Tappahannock, Va. native was also named a First Team All-Conference member earlier this year as well as an ODAC Golfer of the Week mention in October.
