Marlins in Third Place after First Round at Ted Keller
ASHLAND, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team is currently in third place after conclusion of the first round of the Ted Keller Memorial on Monday. Competition was held at the Hanover Country Club by host Randolph-Macon College.
Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg are in a tie for the lead after shooting a 299 (+19) in the first round. The Marlins follow just two strokes behind at 301 (+21). The University of Mary Washington rounds out the top four with a 305 (+25).
Kevin Duffy led the way for the Marlins with a 74 (+4), sitting in a tie for fifth. Peter Scrimgeour was one stroke off the pace of Duffy with a 75 (+5) to sit in a tie for ninth. Keith Cooper, Carter Morgan, and Jakob Keidel are tied for 11th on the leaderboard with a first-round 76 (+6).
Daniel Harcourt of Gettysburg leads all individuals with a 69 (-1), the only golfer to shoot under par on Monday. Jason Guintu of Mary Washington is currently second (72, +2), followed by Ben Mitchell of Franklin & Marshall (73, +3).
Virginia Wesleyan will conclude competition at the Ted Keller Memorial on Tuesday.
