    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s basketball team defended the Jane P. Batten Student Center Saturday afternoon as the team dropped Washington and Lee, 87-77. With the win, the Marlins improve to 4-2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference action at 2-0. The Generals slide to 4-3 on the year and go to 0-2 in ODAC play.

With the 72-54 loss, the Averett University Cougars fell to 0-5. Tim Fisher who scored a career high of 25 points to secure his second double-double of the season as he also tacked on 11 rebounds on the night.

The Marlins improve to 2-2 on the year while picking up a win in their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest. Guilford drops to 3-3 on the season (0-1).
