VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Lamont Steward of the Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team has been named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Second Team for his efforts over the 2017-18 season.
At 6'6, Steward was a force to be reckon with, possessing the abilities to make and create shots for himself with ease. The Norfolk, Va. native's 14.6 points led the squad and ranked twelfth in the conference. Steward started in 20 of the team's 26 games this year and reached double-digit scoring in all but three games. In a win over N.C. Wesleyan on Dec. 2 the junior capped a career high 24 points.
Steward also used his size underneath as well. The stretch guard gathered 7.7 rebounds a game for a total of 143 on the season (both team-highs. Combining his scoring with his presence on the glass, Steward tallied five double-doubles.
Steward helped his team to a 17-9 overall record, with 11 of those wins coming in conference play.
