• Volleyball Releases 2018 Schedule

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. The squad will compete in 30 matches, with 10 of them to be played at their own Donald M. Forsyth Gymnasium inside the Jane P. Batten Student Center.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team came away with three of the four major honors for the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State awards as Hanna Hull was named the Pitcher of the Year, Cassetty Howerin the Player of the Year and Coach Brandon Elliott the Coach of the Year. Joining them on the All-State honor roll is Madison Glaubke, who collected First Team honors and Kiersten Richardson with a spot on the Second Team.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Carter Morgan of the Virginia Wesleyan University men’s golf team has been named to the All-State Second Team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) for his performance over the 2018 season. This is the program’s second ever All-State recipient with former National Champion, Evan Cox, receiving All-State honors in 2016 and 2015.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Two members of the Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team have earned All-State status as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). Jacob Pilarski was selected to the All-State First Team while Brandon Kussmaul took home Second Team honors.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s soccer team has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. The Marlins will compete in 18 matches, hosting eight of the them right at Trinder Stadium. Virginia Wesleyan finished last season with a record of 15-7-1, winning the ODAC regular season and also making it past the first round of the NCAA Championship. The Marlins also ended its season ranked No. 24 in the nation.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The 2018 National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team invites you to come celebrate the title run with a meet and greet for fans and young players to meet the team! The event will take place at Shorebreak Pizza and Taphouse at 5:30 p.m. (to 7:30 p.m.) on Thursday. Shorebreak is located 2941 Shoredrive in Virginia Beach. Fan can come and get gear signed by the Nation Champion Marlins as 11 players for the squad will be in attendance. Team photos and door prizes will be given away for young fans who wished to get it signed as well as cake for everyone! Virginia Wesleyan University hopes that all can come join the fun and celebrate!

    NORMAL, Ill. – Brandon Kussmaul of the Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team has been signed to play professional baseball with the Normal CornBelters out of Normal, Ill. The team is an independent ball club playing in the Frontier League which is one of four true professional independent leagues in the United States.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University softball coaching staff has been named the Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year for their efforts over the 2018 season. Headed by Brandon Elliott, the staff consisting of Jim Quinn, Jenna Wilson, Chris Smith and Bobby Wills helped steer the softball team towards one of the best seasons in NCAA history.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Former Virginia Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse player, Josh Currier, will be playing for the National Lacrosse League’s Champion’s Cup Saturday evening with the Rochester Knighthawks. The Champion’s Cup is awarded to the winner of the NLL’s Championship best-of-three series.
