• Women's Swimming Sits In 11th After Day One of ODACs

    GREENSBORO, N.C. - After one day of competition, the Virginia Wesleyan University women’s swim team is in 11th at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships with 14 team points. Despite the team position, it was a positive day as many Marlins set personal bests.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against LaGrange College Friday afternoon on the road. With the loss, the Marlins go to 0-2 on the season and the Panthers move to 4-2.
  • Softball Shuts Out Meredith Twice In Season Opener

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The back-to back defending National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team picked up right where it left off, downing Meredith in both games of a doubleheader Friday afternoon. The Marlins dropped the Angels 15-0 (5 Inn.) in game one before completing the sweep with a 9-0 (5 Inn.) win. With the result the VWU improves to 2-0 on the year while Meredith drops to 0-2.

    NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country teams were both named Scholar Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Also receiving recognition was Skyler Lattuca of the men’s team, who earned individual Scholar Athlete honors.

    WINCHESTER, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University Men’s Basketball team defeated the Shenandoah Hornets this past Wednesday to improve to 12-12 on the year and 10-5 in the ODAC. Four Marlins scored in double figures with Lamont Steward dropping 23 points and Tim Fisher recording a double-double with 19 rebounds and 16 points.
  • Women's Basketball Falls Just Short at Randolph-Macon

    ASHLAND, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell, 68-62, to Randolph-Macon on the road Tuesday evening. With the result, the Marlins move to 13-11 on the season and go to 10-7 in conference action. Macon improves to 17-7 on the season (12-5 ODAC).

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hanna Hull of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been named one of 50 players in all of Division III to the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Association (NFCA) National Player of the Year watch. This is coming on the heels of her winning the National Player of the Year award in both 2017 and 2018.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – With time winding down, it was only fitting that Lamont Steward capped off his career-night with the game-winner for the Virginia Wesleyan University men’s basketball team. Down 69-68, the Marlins pushed the ball up the floor and found Steward in the paint. The junior corralled the pass, finished the lay up and drew the foul, all in one swift motion. He would go on to sink the free throw and with just nine seconds left, the Emory & henry was unable to answer.

With the victory, the Marlins improve to 13-10 on the year and move to 10-6 in conference action. Ferrum drops to 3-20 on the season (1-15 ODAC).

    FOREST, Va. –Jayla Harris of the women’s basketball team and Coby Cockrell of the men’s indoor track and field team have earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) recognition for their performances over the week. Harris was named the Player of the Week while Cockrell was named the Field Athlete of the Week. This is the second weekly ODAC award each individual has received.
