Sports Medicine

It is the mission of the sports medicine staff to provide the highest quality care to the student athletes of Virginia Wesleyan University. The sports medicine staff with work with student athletes and their coaches support the mission of the VWU Athletic Department to make sure they are capable of safely participating in varsity athletics inj a successful, quality and competitive experience. The sports medicine staff consists of athletic trainers, team physicians, and other medical professionals that all work towards a common goal of returning student athletes from injury as quickly as possible while keeping student athlete safety in the forefront of any care provided. The sports medicine staff at Virginia Wesleyan University will do everything within their scope of practice to safely return student athletes to participation in varsity athletics. Student athletes are ultimately responsible for their own health/well-being and need to use the sports medicine staff as a resource to maintain their overall health.

 

LOCATION: The athletic training room is located on the 1st floor of the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Park in the Batten Center parking lot, enter the doors into the Events Lobby. Follow the hall straight ahead and past the gymnasium. Take the first hallway to your right; the athletic training room is the last room on the right.
