Hurricane Florence Causes Cancellations and Postponements

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – In lieu of the impending weather Hurricane Florence is bringing over the next week or so, Virginia Wesleyan University has cancelled or postponed all of its athletic events, home and away, until at least Monday.

The schedule changes are as follows:

MEN'S SOCCER – Saturday's game against Hood College has been cancelled without chance of rescheduling.

WOMEN'S SOCCER – Wednesday's game against Christopher Newport University and noth Saturday's game against Widener and Sunday's game against Stevens have been postponed. No reschedule dates have been determined.

FIELD HOCKEY – Saturday's contest against Neumann and Sunday's contest against Widener have postponed. No reschedule dates have been determined.

VOLLEYBALL – All four of the Marlins matches at Averett (Friday and Saturday) have been postponed. No reschedule dates have been determined.

MEN's AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY – The team's will not be travelling to the North Carolina State XC Challenge. Both team's will look to add another undetermined race in the following week.

MEN'S GOLF – The team will not be competing in Harrisonburg for the Tom Kinder Memorial over the weekend.

WOMEN'S GOLF – The team will not be competing in the Southern Virginia Fall Invite on Saturday.
