VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Keith Cooper of the Virginia Welseyan University men's golf team has been named the Marlin of the Week for the week ending on April 07, 2019.
Cooper moved his way into the Virginia Wesleyan record books with his performance at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate this weekend in Jacksonville, N.C. The senior turned in the low scorecard in the Scarlet flight which consisted of 14 teams. On day two, Cooper shot a 63 (-7) which registered as the lowest round in Virginia Wesleyan history. After the three days, the Suffolk, Va. native ended with round scores of 75-63-67.
Cooper and his teammates also set the new team single low score as they combined for a 282 on Day Two.
Men's golf gets back on the course on Monday as the team competes in the two-day Glenn Heath Memorial in Williamsburg, Va.
